Weighing 121 grams, the 5-inch full HD display device is powered by quad-core 1.5 GHz processor with a 2GB RAM internal memory and 16 GB of internal storage. The smartphone features Android 4.2 operating system and packs a 5 MP front and 13 megapixel rear camera.

The device sits under a scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen beveled at the edges. "We expect Vibe X to be a popular choice in Indian market as consumers crave for intelligent performance in a slim and light package and which is not overly priced. With this, we are strengthening our focus on the smart connected devices segment," Lenovo India Managing Director Amar Babu said.

Babu said that the company expects to garner 5 percent share of the smartphone market in the country in the next few years.

“I can't give an exact timeline for the target, but is should be possible in the next few years or medium term. We want to make our brand more known and that involves reaching out to more consumers," he added.

Lenovo has introduced its smartphones into select markets like India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, UAE, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Ukraine. "Our ultimate goal is to use innovation to differentiate Lenovo and become a leading PC+ brand," Babu added.

The Vibe X comes with unique apps like SHAREit, which enables phone-to-phone data transfer in the fastest possible way. At about 4 Mbps, users can exchange pictures, large videos, and complete folders and even share apps without using any data cable or Wi-Fi hub.
