Los Angeles: Director John Singer is reportedly keen to cast 'Inception' star Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie adaptation of iconic 1970's TV show 'Six Million Dollar Man'.

The Weinstein Co is in talks with Universal Pictures to develop the project with 'Valkyrie' helmer Bryan Singer being lined up to direct.

Singer is eyeing Leonardo DiCaprio to tackle the lead role of bionic man Steve Austin, made famous by Lee Majors in the original television series, a magazine reported.

DiCaprio, however, wants to read the screenplay before saying yes to the project.

The actor is currently filming Baz Luhrmann's high-profile film project 'The Great Gatsby', which also has Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan in a cameo.

DiCaprio is also part of 'Django Unchained'.

'Six Million Dollar Man' is about Austin, a pilot who was dying after his ship crashed. Brought back to life by the government, he was augmented with cybernetic parts that gave him superhuman strength and speed. To pay his dues, he becomes a secret operative who fights against injustice.
