Its features are expected to be similar to LG G Pad but this being a Google-branded tablet should receive regular updates to the latest version of Android.

LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition is installed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 system-on-chip and possesses 1,920x1,200 resolution screen. It contains 2GB of RAM and features a 5-megapixel rear camera along with a 1.2-megapixel front camera.

“LG’s working relationship with Google has always been strong and our collaboration on the first-ever Google Play Edition tablet is proof of that commitment,” said Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

“The LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition is a device with hardware and software that has been optimized for a truly consumer-friendly experience. There’s nothing else like it out there in the marketplace,” he added.

As per the market buzz, the tablet will be available for USD 349 for 16GB of storage, which is same as the original.
