LG has recently adopted fingerprint recognition technology for an upcoming smartphone, media reports said citing an industry source. According to reports, the company is experimenting this technology on prototype of alleged G3 handset.

The ‘swipe’ fingerprint scanner that the company is using is much different from the technology that has been used by Apple in iPhone 5s. No further details were revealed about this device.

Based on market buzz, LG G3 is likely to feature a 1440x2560 pixels QHD (Quad-HD) display. The device might be installed with an octa-core chipset and a 16-megapixel rear camera.

Apple was the first smartphone-maker to revolutionalize the mobile phone industry with fingerprint scanner technology.
