New Delhi: The Jan Chetna Yatra which will be rolled out by senior BJP leader LK Advani’s will skip Ayodhya and Somnath. In order to avoid any political stir, Advani’s 7,600- km yatra, which will pass through 23 states in 38 days, will witness no poster of any leader and also shy away from slogans.

During the yatra, the veteran leader will also flag off BJP leader Kalraj Mishra’s Jan Swabhiman Yatra from Varanasi on October 13.
This time, Ayodhya and Somnath are not on Advani’s list and ditching the rath, Advani will roll out his yatras in buses and flights.

Supporting Advani on his yatra, top BJP leaders will accompany on different states at several venues.

In a bid to silence any arguments on yatra, the BJP has decided that except for party flag and national flag, there will be no publicity of any leader.

BJP convener Anant Kumar said this yatra aimed at creating awareness among people on issues like black money, corruption, inflation, etc.

On skipping Ayodhya and Somnath, Kumar said, “Our objectives at these places are complete as we won Somnath 20 years ago and won Ayodhya also recently in the court.”

Advani’s yatra will cover 250-300 kilometre daily. However, Advani will spend less time in Uttar Pradesh observing yatras by Kalraj Mishra and Rajnath Singh in the state.

The BJP cleared that the expenditure will be from public participation.
