Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR in collaboration with social networking site Facebook, is going to launch an SMS-based system through which any voter can avail the details of candidate who is contesting Lok Sabha polls.

On Sunday, a brief meet with the top ADR members and a glimpse of the research agency’s working mechanism was seen in the last episode of popular television series ‘Satyamev Jayate’, which is hosted by actor-producer Aamir Khan.

ADR-National Election Watch has helped in bringing a great level of transparency in the Indian election system. The agency has made electoral system more see through for the voters.

ADR’s new SMS initiative will work on Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (UASD) protocol. Under this system, message can be sent by any ordinary GSM mobile phone with or without internet connection facility.

To get information, dial (toll-free) *325*35# and you will get a list of options from where you can avail information about the party candidates of your constituency. Following details of the political leaders can be availed through the SMSes:

• Financial, criminal and educational background of the contesting candidates as per affidavit filed with the Election Commission

• Assets of candidates as per declaration with the EC at the time of filing nominations.
