Hyderabad: Lok Satta Party president and MLA N Jayaprakash Narayan will undertake a 'padayatra' from Nizamabad district on Saturday to Nanded district in Maharashtra as a token of protest against the restrictions imposed by Andhra Pradesh government on sale of paddy outside the state.

The event will be held under the auspices of Federation of Independent Farmers' Associations (FIFA), which is headed by Narayan.

Lok Satta on Friday said that the 'satyagraha yatra' will begin from Pocharam village in Nizamabad district on Saturday and reach Esgi in Nanded on February 26.

Narayan would sell paddy as a mark of protest against the Andhra Pradesh government's restrictions at Esgi.

"The Andhra Pradesh government neither ensures minimum support price nor allows farmers to sell their produce outside the state. These restrictions are illegal and run counter to the Centre's directives," senior party leader DVVS Varma said.

Narayan, a bureaucrat-turned-politician, undertook a similar yatra to Karnataka on February 19 for selling paddy.
