Jabalpur: The Madhya Pradesh Lokayukt government on Thursday said that it has ordered investigations against ministers and officers after receiving several complaints against them.

Lokayukt IG Ashok Awasthi, who is on a two-day visit to the state said, “We have been investing the complaints received against corrupt ministers and officials.”

“The Lokayukt receives a large number of complaints but a case can be registered only after carrying out a detailed investigation,” he added.

Praising the Lokayukt Police he said, “Lokayukt police has done commendable job here.”

Impartial in GN Singh matter

Regarding the recent raid by the Special Police Establishment of Lokayukt in the office and house of Executive Minister of Jabalpur Development Authority and subsequent recovery of disproportionate assets, GN Singh said, “Investigation in the matter is on and is being carried out without any discrepancy.”

During the survey of the Lokayukt office, Awasthi said that all pending matters will be taken upo for investigation on a priority basis. “Those matters which have been pending for a long time will be given importance and taken up first. After investigation into those matters, a report will be submitted,” he said. He also inquired about the basic facilities and deficiencies in the office.
