New Delhi: Delhi Lokayukta on Tuesday issued a show cause notice to Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit into the allegations of awarding several government contracts to a single advertising agency.

The petitioner produced several evidences, in this regard, before the Lokayukta court. These evidences were gathered from Information and Publicity, Art and Culture and Finance Departments with the help of Right to Information Act (RTI).

Interestingly, all these three departments are headed by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit herself. It is also alleged that the Delhi CM made extensive outdoor campaign and spent crores of public money on her government’s promotions.

According to the allegations, Dikshit used her position to extend undue favour to M/s VPA limited in giving contracts for making advertisements for various departments in print, electronic, TV and radio since 2003.

The Lokayukta asked Dikshit to reply to the show cause notice in the next hearing which is scheduled on March 12.
