Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Lokayukta has received a complaint against yet another minister of the Mayawati government. A case has been registered against state Energy Minister Ramveer Upadhyay for misuse of power, MPLAD funds, disproportionate assets and illegal occupation of properties.

The Lokayukta has initiated a preliminary investigation in this matter and has asked the minister to submit reply within two weeks.

Complainant Devendra Agarwal, district president of the Samajwadi Party, Mahamaya Nagar submitted a complaint to the Lokayukta alleging that Upadhayay misused power and had disproportionate assets.

It is learnt that the worth of Upadhyay assets is more than his income. Upadhaya has been accused of registering commercial land into agriculture land, misuse of MPLAD funds, illegal possession of slum quarters and parks, construction of houses without map, etc.

Meanwhile, Upadhayay rejected all these allegations and said all these claims were false. He is expected to take a legal action.
