Iqbal said that he will meet AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal over government formation in Delhi and that he was confident to convince Kejriwal for alliance with Congress party and for forming government thereby keeping the BJP at bay.

Meanwhile, AAP Spokesperson Ashutosh refuted reports of any such meeting and said that such claims are only made by Iqbal. Ashutosh went on to say that AAP will do whatever is required in order to keep BJP away from the national government.

Iqbal on Tuesday claimed that if BJP is invited to form government, all 36 MLAs, including him and that of AAP and Congress will parade in front of Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung to prove that BJP does not have the majority to form the government in the national capital.

BJP, which currently has 28 seats in the assembly, needs to get support of at least 34 MLAs to reach the majority mark. Iqbal’s claim came following reports that Jung is likely to invite BJP as the single largest party to form government in the state.
