New Delhi: The efforts of Parliamentarians of Bihar paid off as Union Surface Transport Secretary AK Upadhyay has assured them to resume the pending road schemes included under the phase 3 of National Highway Development Project.

Janata Dal United (JDU) Parliamentarians Jagdish Sharma, Dinesh Chandra Yadav and Ashwamedh Devi met the Transport Secretary to discuss the deplorable condition of national highways in the state and the delay in completion of the pending projects.

Jahanabad parliamentarian Jagdish Sharma expressed displeasure for not starting the long pending construction at Patna-Gaya-Dovi route of NH 83. He also raised the issue of construction of a bridge near Bandhuganj on the Arval-Jahanabad-Biharsharif route for which the Ministry has yet not released the funds.

Khagaria MP Yadav sought to convert the 30 km link road (Maheshkhunt to Sultanpur) into NH route. He also took up the issue of delay in the construction of Dumri Bridge.

Ujiarpur parliamentarian Aswamedh Devi raised the demand for a bridge near Jamdaha.
