New Delhi: Proceeding in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday was disrupted amid demands for coal linkage to Barauni thermal power plant in Bihar by Janata Dal (U) members forcing Speaker Meira Kumar to adjourn the House for an hour till noon.

JD (U) members stormed into the Well of the house raising slogans against Union Coal Minister Sri Prakash Jaiswal accusing him of discriminating Bihar state by not providing coal linkage for Barauni thermal power plant.

Earlier, JD (U) members had on March 14 raised this issue in the Parliament which caused uproar forcing Speaker to adjourn the house.  In order to increase the capacity of the two units of Barauni thermal power plant to 250 MW each from 110 MW,  Bihar government had asked central government for coal linkage for the plant. But the government has refused the demand.
