Eyeing OBC vote bank, the saffron outfit has decided to give equal representation to workers belonging to Khap, backward and Most Backward Classes in the party meeting.

The party is also deliberating to organize social justice programme in the state. In order to bag OBC and Khap votes, the saffron outfit would focus on the problems being faced by people belonging to Backward Classes.

On the state level, the party would increase the participation of Khap chief, president and sarpanch by giving them a respectable role in the party. It would be a constant effort to revive role of Backward Class leaders so that the party doesn’t face any hurdle in forming government at the Center after Lok Sabha elections.

To polarize the OBCs in its favour, the party is scheduled to launch one-month long social justice programme on February 15.

In what could be termed as a political stunt ahead of crucial 2014 general elections, the BJP will also attempt to grab votes by sending messages in the community that its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is also an OBC. Former chief minister Kalyan Singh’s ‘pro-hindutva image’ and OBC background may also help the BJP reap electoral dividends in the Lok Sabha polls.

According to the report of social justice committee, the backward castes including Nishad, Kashyap, Maurya, Saini, Bind and others would be given equal preference in the party. During ticket distribution, the party would focus on candidates belonging to Chauhan, Rajbhar, Saahu and Kushwaha so as to get favourable results.
