Meira Kumar, a former IFS officer, is the sitting Congress MP from Sasaram. She is the daughter of late Congress leader and former deputy prime minister Babu Jagjivan Ram.
Bihar's ruling Janata Dal (United) has fielded KP Ramiah, a retired IAS officer, against her, while the BJP has fielded former minister Chedi Paswan.
Meira Kumar is also set to face competition in Sasaram from her niece Medhavi Kirti, who will be contesting on a Bahujan Samaj Party ticket.
In the last Lok Sabha polls in 2009, the Congress won only two of 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, including that of Sasaram.
Sasaram (SC) seat will go to polls on April 10 with Karakat, Aurangabad, Gaya (SC), Nawada and Jamui (SC) parliamentary constituencies during the first phase of general elections in Bihar.
"I am confident and sure that people will support and vote for me. I will again win from here," she said.
