Rahul, who is presently on a four-day tour of the northeastern states, will arrive here in a special aircraft from Shillong at around 1 pm.

After landing at the Tulihal airport, Rahul will head towards the Wangjing Kadampokpi Ground in Thoubal district where he will address a public meeting.

Speaking at an election rally in Hapoli on Tuesday, the Congress vice-president had raked up the death of Nido Tania, a student from Arunachal Pradesh, in the national capital.

Asserting that he and his family were compassionate for the North-East and its people, he said, “I went to the protest over the killing of Nido Tania and what happened was a very sad thing.”

Meanwhile, Rahul has cancelled his proposed visit to Aizawl on Wednesday. According to reports, he was scheduled to address an election rally at Mualpui locality in Aizawl.
