As per the ‘Operation Clean’, the Congress legislators in the state are lured one by one by Chief Minister along with Bharatiya Janata Party office bearers who are working in tandem to get rival MLAs in their fold.

In order to check such fissures in the party, the Congress managers have started to keep a close eye on their MLAs. Shivraj Singh along with party general secretary (organisation) Arvind Menon started ‘Operation Clean’ before the assembly polls to wipe out the entire Congress from the state. Shivraj’s close aide and Health Minister Narottam Mishra is also a part of the exercise.

Mishra acted as a catalyst in bringing senior Congress leader Rakesh Chaudhary to the BJP camp after arranging latter’s meeting with both Shivraj and Menon.

To make ‘Operation Clean’ a complete success, BJP state president Narendra Singh is also playing a significant role.

Narendra Singh is already being credited for another Congress heavyweight in MP Uday Pratap Singh joining the saffron brigade.

This came as a big blow for the Congress party and to add salt to their wounds, BJP has now announced Uday Pratap Singh as their candidate from the Hoshangabad constituency.

As soon as the Congress finalised the name for Bhagirath Prasad as its candidate from the Bhind LS constituency, BJP tempted him into their camp and announced him their party nominee from this seat, which came as another blow for the Congress.

Barely recovered from these bolts from the blue, Congress was shaken up once again as their MLA from the Mahakoshal region swapped his political loyalties to BJP.

To add to its existing miseries, Congress MLA from Bundelkhand Dinesh Ahirwar also jumped ship to join BJP.
