The BJP’s central election committee is likely to announce candidates for states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Chandigarh on Thursday. It has also shortlisted a few names for Delhi. The party held deliberations till late night at Rajnath Singh’s residence over the issue.

On Thursday, the saffron party is also expected to name some of the well known celebrities and it’s being said that a total of 150 candidates would be announced.

The meeting is also expected to witness ‘fireworks’ of sorts and the party is yet to arrive at any conclusion on certain seats. However, a clear decision is likely to be made for the seats going to polls by sixth phase.

According to the party’s high-ranked office bearers, a discussion is likely to take place over a number of seats but no announcement would be made. It’s also possible that a decision seats of Rajnath Singh and Narendra Modi will be made after a few days.

During Wednesday night’s meeting, the issue of Uttar Pradesh generated much heat and a similar situation was witnessed during the party’s last meeting as well. The BJP, which has been accusing the Congress and RJD of promoting dynastic politics, is careful of selecting candidates.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh is planning to field his son Abhishek Singh from Rajnandgaon constituency in place of party MP Madhusudhan Yadav.

It’s being said that Bollywood actors Sunny Deol and Vivek Oberoi would contest the polls on BJP ticket from Mathura and Unnao seat respectively.

Sources also said that no seating MP would be denied LS ticket in Bihar.
