The body was taken to the electric crematorium here and the cremation was performed with the consent of his family members, brother of the deceased R K Sachan said.
"There was no pressure from the government in this regard," he said.
The family members were earlier not ready to cremate the body alleging that he was murdered.
During the cremation, some persons raised slogans against the state government.
52-year-old Sachan was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the toilet of the Lucknow jail hospital on Wednesday. In the autopsy, injury marks were seen on the neck,
elbows, thigh and left wrist.
The brother of the deceased said that the family does not feel the need for a second post mortem examination.
"We are satisfied with the post mortem report. Earlier there was an apprehension of foul play before we received the autopsy report," he said.
He, however, stuck to the demand for a CBI probe.
"According to the autopsy report there were eight ante-mortem injuries on the body and the theory of ligature mark due to hanging has been completely ruled out," he said.
"If required, we are ready to take legal recourse and approach the apex court as we have no faith in the ongoing judicial inquiry ordered by the state government," he said.
Sachan said the family was of the view that a CBI inquiry was required to look into the matter from all angles.
Special Director General of Police Brij Lal, meanwhile said no application has been received from Sachan's wife to lodge a murder case.
Earlier, the family members of Deputy Chief Medical Officer YS Sachan, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances, have denied to perform the last rites and asserted the government for a CBI probe.
After the body of Sachan was brought to his residence at Jankipuram sector on Thursday, his inconsolable wife Dr Malti cried foul over his death and said Sachan did not commit suicide but was murdered inside the jail.
Even after continuous efforts from police officials to convince the family to perform the last rites, Sachan’s family members were adamant and asked for a copy of the postmortem report. They said, “Unless the state government gives order for the CBI probe, we are not going to perform the last rites.”
Scores of eminent political figures came to give consolations to victim’s family members. Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Rajnath Singh; Vinay Katiyar, BJP's national vice-president; close friend of the deceased and Fatehpur MP of Samajwadi party Rakesh Sachan; Congress state president Rita Bahuguna; Mayor Dr Dinesh Sharma; SP (trans-Gomti) Nitin Tiwari along with other senior police officials and many other BJP leaders came to expressed their condolence.
The main accused in the murder of Chief Medical Officer (Family Welfare) B P Singh Sachan was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside the Lucknow district jail hospital on Wednesday night after which the government ordered a judicial probe into the incident.
