Gwalior:  The cash-strapped Gwalior development Authority (GDA) has got a support from an unexpected quarter in its function here on Tuesday. The help came from Madhya Pradesh BJP president Prabhat Jha who announced to spare Rs 25 lakh from his MP fund for the construction of roads in residential areas here.

Prabhat Jha made this announcement during a function organised by the Gwalior development Authority (GDA) on Tuesday.

Notably, GDA had developed some residential areas but failed to maintain the roads owing to the lack of fund. Now, the state BJP chief has come forward to extend help to it.

The GDA had invited Jha as the chief guest in the inauguration ceremony of a power substation for the authority developed residential area at Shatabdipuram. Addressing the function, GDA Chairman Ravindra Singh Rajput talked about the pathetic condition of roads.

Hearing the matter, BJP state president announced Rs 25 lakh for the development of roads. Jha also assured the same amount of funds from the party’s Rajya Sabha members Maya Singh and Kaptan Singh Solanki.

Jha further added that GDA has lost public trust but officials can make efforts to regain the past.
