Bhopal: The much-awaited expansion of Madhya Pradesh cabinet would take place on Friday with the induction of two or three members.

State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan told reporters in Gwalior earlier on Friday that the expansion of his cabinet would take place on Friday.

While Chouhan did not reveal the names of the new ministers, highly placed sources said that former minister Anoop Mishra, nephew of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, is likely to be inducted into the Cabinet.

Besides, senior tribal MLA Gyan Singh too may be given Cabinet berth, sources said.

The Minister of State for Energy (Independent Charge) Rajendra Shukla is likely to be promoted to Cabinet rank while a woman member would also be inducted into the Council of Ministers, they said.

Anoop Mishra was forced to resign from the Cabinet earlier following alleged involvement of his kin in an incident at Bela village near Gwalior in which a 17-year-old youth died following a land dispute.

At present the strength of Chouhan's Cabinet is 32 and it can go upto 35.
