Bhopal: Leader of opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Ajay Singh on Wednesday said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan should take cognisance of the bad condition of state highways instead of talking about the national highways.

"State highway roads in Madhya Pradesh are in a very bad condition and Chouhan must first give a certificate stating that the state roads were good before blaming the Centre for the bad condition of National Highways," the Congress leader said in a statement.

By blaming the Centre, Chouhan was diverting the attention of the people who were worried about the 3,500 kms of state roads which were in a bad condition.

On many occasions, the state ministers during Cabinet meetings had expressed concern over the bad condition of state roads, he said.

Even Bhopal Collector had publicly expressed concern about the bad condition of roads in the state capital, Ajay claimed.
