Bhopal: In a drive to put a stop over increasing number of illegal mobile towers in the city, local administration is preparing a policy to deal with it. A high level meeting in this regard is likely to take place on Tuesday.

Names of city mayor Krishna Gaur, MIC member Vishnu Rathore, Congress councilors,  Azizuddin Ahmad and Praveen Saxena including ward commissioner Rajneesh Srivastava is scheduled to take part in the committee meeting which has been constituted to look into the matter.

As per Azizuddin, the number of illegal towers in the city figures about 400 and whereas City Planner, Bhopal, SK Mudgal had estimated it to be around 175. Issues will also be raised regarding those towers which had managed to get an approval in a single night deliberations of the committee.

Interestingly mobile companies like BSNL, Idea , Reliance , Airtel have put their towers in the city.However, a few companies have not sought prior approval for erecting mobile towers in the city and nor municipal officials have taken any action against them.
