Gwalior: The Gwalior bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court on Thursday sought replies from the Central and the Madhya Pradesh government in connection with the growing trend of misleading and obscene advertisements appearing both in the print and electronic media.

The court has sought their replies within four weeks

The order by the division bench of Justice S K Gangele and Justice Sheel Nagu came in response to the PIL filed by advocate Awdesh Singh Bhadoriya who expressed concerns over the attempt by companies to mislead consumers through false advertisements.

Observing that such activities are disastrous for the society, the high court issued notices to the Union Ministry of Tele Communications, Chief Secretary of MP government, Press council of India, Advising Regulatory Authority of India and Collector, seeking replies within the notice period.
