Bhopal: Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Ajay Singh has blamed the state government and local administration for the death of three devotees in a stampede at Salkanpur Devi Temple in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh.

Three women were killed and 35 others injured when a stampede broke out early on Saturday at the temple.

Expressing grief over the mishap, Singh said despite knowing that a large number of devotees visit the temple during Navratri festival the authorities concerned failed to make any proper arrangements.

As the temple is situated in the home district of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, it's a serious concern that such a tragedy has happened there, he added.
