Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh government decided to extend its wheat procurement on Minimum Support Price till May 31. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has issued the direction in this regard.

About 45 lakh MT wheat has been procured from farmers in the state. A total of Rs 6200 crore has been credited to the accounts of farmers.

Earlier, the wheat had to be bought on the MSP till May 20. Later, the wheat procurement has been extended till May 31.

All the districts have been directed that wheat be procured from all the registered farmers.

The CM has assured that the state government will ensure the procurement of wheat from farmers.
