Sasaram: Stone mining mafia in Sasaram’s Karwandiya opened indiscriminate fire on the Rohtas district SP’s convoy during a raid conducted by the district administration on Sunday.

The police seized a large quantity of arms and explosives including 64 heavy vehicles involved in illegal stone mining.

Police officials informed that they have seized around 25,000 detonators and detained 30 people in connection with it.
Rohtas district Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj, who lead the raid said, “We received information from our sources about mafia presence in Amratalab and Bansa villages. On Sunday morning during a drive against illegal mining mafia, we seized 25,000 detonator, 2,500 kg of ammonium nitrate, 50 tractors, 20 power gel explosives, six exploders, six bikes, six live cartridge, one country-made pistol and eight machines used for loading stones on vehicles.”

The police have registered a case under the Explosives Act
