Tikamgarh (MP): Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Ajay Singh, and the state Congress president Kantilal Bhuria on Saturday said that "a mafia raj" was prevailing in the state.

The two leaders addressed several public meetings during the Congress's Jan Chetana Yatra in the district on Saturday.
Ajay said that while the ruling BJP talked about empowerment of women, it threw out the Bundelkhand leader Uma Bharti to Uttar Pradesh.

The BJP was now against its own Kisan Sangh Leader, Shiv Kumar Sharma, only because he was fighting for the farmers.
Referring to murder of a man at Jatara, allegedly by the BJP workers and some police personnel, the two leaders alleged that "there is no Shivraj government but it is mafia government".

Ajay alleged that BJP leaders had nexus with contractors, mining mafia and criminals, and the innocent officers who were trying to stop illegal mining were being beaten or killed.
