Allahabad: Tata group of companies has taken an initiative by joining hands with Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam to provide safe and pure drinking water to the devotees in Maha Kumbh.

The company has set up 28 booths with 300 water purifiers installed in them. The new tech purifier uses nano technology to purify water.

The company has decided to provide the services to the pilgrims till March 10. It is estimated that this season around 10 crore people will attend the Kumbh mela which require over 10 lakh litres of water.

According to Ashvini Hiran, COO of Tata Chemicals, this initiative will benefit all the pilgrims especially those who can’t afford water bottle. V P singh, Chief Engineer of UP Jal Nigam said, “Unsafe water is the main cause of many water borne diseases.”
