Mumbai: Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil said that the state has been put on high alert after serial blasts rocked Mahabodhi Temple at Bodh Gaya in Bihar on Sunday.
"Yes, an alert has been sounded in the state even though there are no specific inputs or threats," Patil said. He also appealed people to maintain calm in the state.
"The attack is highly condemnable. I appeal to the people, particularly the Dalit community, to maintain peace. If required, security will be beefed up at Buddhist pilgrim sites in the state," he said, adding that the state government would cooperate with Centre in the process of investigation.
