India's 4-1 ODI loss to Australia has given Dhoni's critics another chance to hit out at him, with cricket great like Ian Chappell going to the extent of saying that 'his presence as skipper hampers Team India'. While this statement might be considered too harsh by Mahi's fans, it cannot be ruled entirely nonsensical. It's evident to one and all that the Jharkhand star has lost his command over the team, which needs a new face to represent it internationally.

Dhoni's performance in recent months has raised many questions on his abilities as a cricketer and skipper. Over the years, he has led India to wonderful victories in tail overs and subsequently has been given the title of 'Mr Match Finisher'.

But his recent performances hardly justify this tag. In the recently concluded ODI series against Australia, there were several occasions when Dhoni failed to save his team from crushing defeat, most important being the Canberra ODI when he got out for duck and could not use the mileage provided by Virat-Dhawan's 212 run partnership to hand victory to India.

Let us look at his performance in the latest, five-match ODI series between India and Australia:

11* (26th January, 2016) in Adelaide

1 (23rd January, 2016) in Sydney

0 (20th January, 2016) in Canberra

23 (17th January, 2016) in  Melbourne

11 (15th January, 2016) in Brisbane

This, of course, does not paint a very nice picture for MS; a fearless batsman who has played innumerable life saving innings in the past.

To conclude, we would say that Mahendra Singh Dhoni has made unmatchable contributions for Indian cricket and has given us beautiful moments to cherish and remember. But, we think its finally time to let go off our most successful captain and replace him with a fresh face with fresh approach for a fresh team.
