Mumbai : A major fire broke out at Akruti Trade Centre of suburban Andheri  during late Friday evening which is a commercial complex housing a number of corporate offices of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area in suburban Andheri .

According to chief fire officer H N Mujawar, fire started from a canteen located on the sixth floor of the building and soon  spread to the seventh floor.

Over 15 fire engines were rushed to the spot to dowse flames. No casualties were reported in the incident, he said.

Even though the exact cause of the fire was not known, fire brigade officials said that short-circuit could be behind the mishap.
However, efforts were being made to bring the fire under control.
