The heart rending tragedy in which an Afghan origin American citizen, Omar Mir Seddique Mateen, 29, shot at jam packed - gay nightclub in, Florida yesterday.

United States of America has been witnessed number of such mayhems over the last few years. Here we brought few tragic incidents when USA has to undergo horrified experience:

June 17, 2015: Dylann Roof, 21, killed nine people, including state senator Clementa C Pinckney at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston, South Carolina.

April 2, 2012
: A gunman shot at people inside Oikos University, a Korean Christian college in Oakland, California and left seven injured.

On July 20, 2012: A gunman, dressed in tactical clothing, set off tear gas grenades and shot at audience Red Lake Indian Reservation in Red Lake, Minnesota. Twelve people were killed and seventy others were injured in the massacre.

On December 14, 2012:  20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 children aged between 6 and 7 years old, as well as six adult staff members at the Sandy Hook Elementary School, Newtown, Connecticut.

On November 5, 2009: Nidal Hasan, a US Army major and psychiatrist, fatally shot 13 people and injured more than 30 others at Fort Hood, near Killeen, Texas.

On April 16, 2007:  Seung-Hui Cho shot 32 people and wounded 17 on the campus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Three weeks in October 2002 (October 2-24): A series of coordinated shootings killed ten people and left three critically injured in several locations throughout the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area and in Virginia.
