Washington: Major US news networks shifted to the live coverage of the serial bomb blasts in Mumbai on Wednesday, terming it as a terrorist strike days ahead of the visit of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to India.

News channels- MSNBC, CNN, Fox and ABC to name a few- were providing the live coverage of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai as a breaking story, which interrupted their regular news bulletins.

While the CNN used the live feed from its India affiliate CNN-IBN, MSNBC was showing live news from NDTV, and the Fox News was hooked up with another local news channel in India.

The CNN said these blasts brought back bad memories of the Mumbai terrorist attacks of November 2008.

The US news outlets said that this was a clear case of terrorist attack.

Terror struck Mumbai this evening when three near simultaneous blasts ripped through crowded areas in the city.
