While 18 percent went for action, 14 percent gave thumbs-up to romance and 11 percent watched films with intellectual content, the results revealed. Only seven percent of the respondents were in favour of drama and six percent of them selected animation.
The findings from the 18 to 25 years age group also highlighted comedy as the dominant choice. In the same age group, 88 percent equated viewing films as appreciation of cinema, whereas for seven percent respondents, watching films was sheer entertainment and it was a 'time-pass' for one percent.
It said that 61 percent moviegoers in the age group of 18 to 25 years watch movies more than once a month in multiplexes with comedy being their favourite genre.
