New Delhi: Central Information Commission (CIC) has demanded entire files of the Finance Ministry to be made public in which a website had called anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare a mad person on the dictates of top notch official of the ministry.

In fact Hindi daily ‘Dainik Jagran’ had revealed that a letter has been posted on the ministry website calling Hazare a lunatic. Remarkably this is one of the 15,000 letters that the government had received on the issue of garnering support for an effective Lokpal Bill.

Although the much talked about website was prepared by the DoPT (Department of Personnel and Training) but it was posted on the directives of the official of the concerned department only.

Noted RTI activist Subhash Chandra Agrawal had sent a copy of daily to DoPT enquiring about the details of the report but the copy was not made available to the concerned department irrespective of the fact that the order in this regard had been issued by a higher authority of the same department.
