Jaipur: The natives of Rajasthan planning to visit Malaysia have a reason to rejoice as they would not be required to approach the Malaysian embassy in Delhi for a visa. They would just be required to apply for a visa at General Post Office (GPO), Jaipur and within a week it can be received at their residence.

After Chandigarh and Ludhiana, Jaipur has become the third Indian city to provide Malaysian visa by post. Earlier, Malaysia and India signed an agreement to issue visa by post after which the facility was started at head post offices in Chandigarh and Ludhiana.

Toeing on the same lines, the facility was started at the GPO in Jaipur from Tuesday last. The postal department has signed an agreement with VFS Global company which will provide visa from the Malaysian embassy on the application received by the post office.

The post office will dispatch the visa within 5-7 days on the address of the applicant. For the visa, the applicant would have to fill an application form along with the submission of the passport and other compulsory documents.

The usual travelers from Jaipur in Rajasthan to Bangkok in Malaysia will be able to avail benefit from the facility. Till now, tourists acquired visa through tour operators who used to charge them for the service or were required to visit the Malaysian embassy for the purpose.
