Jodhpur: Accussing the CBI of framing Luni legislator Malkhan Singh Bishnoi’s name in Bhanwari Devi murder case, his counsel Hemant Nahata has informed a court that the Luni MLA was in love with Bhanwari and he was father of Bhanwari’s daughter Gungun.
He further said that Bhanwari was not blackmailing Bishnoi as he was bearing the expenses for education of Gungun.
The counsel also argued that Bhanwari even went to the Dargah of revered Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti at Ajmer to offer Chadar when Bishnoi became MLA.
The counsel during the trial told the court that Bishnoi had went to the hospital to meet Bhanwari when she gave birth to Gungun, therefore, ties between Bishnoi and Bhanwari were not strained.
According to Hemant Nahata, Bishnoi had also told Bhanwari to spend Rs 50 lakh on Gungun’s wedding.
Bhanwari Devi, posted as an auxiliary nurse at a sub-centre in Jaliwada village in Jodhpur, had gone missing from Jodhpur's Bilara area on September one last year following which her husband Amarchand, had filed a habeas corpus petition in the High Court.
After the state government ordered a CBI probe into the case, the agency arrested Malkhan Singh and Mahipal Maderna in December last year for their alleged involvement in the case.
