Kolkata: Reiterating the collusion between Left Front and the Congress, the Trinmool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has further escalated the spat with its ally at Centre and the state by firing fresh salvos at them.

On the occasion of scholarship and loan distribution to students belonging to minority community, the TMC supremo openly attacked the Congress stating that it is hobnobbing with the CPI-M in the state.
Talking over the renaming of Indira Bhavan as Nazrul Islam, Mamata categorically said that her decision is correct and protest over the issue is unreasonable. Targeting some Congress ministers, the TMC leader said, “Electronic media is being used as a platform where everyone is frantically pouring out his views without giving second thought to what they are saying.”

She upbraided the Congress for opposing the decision to rechristen Indira Bhavan into Nazrul Islam Museum.

Rebutting the allegation levied by the Left Front and the Congress on the pace of growth in West Bengal, Mamata said, “Within seven months of her tenure as Chief Minister, several important development works have been done. However, the CPI (M) and the Congress have been raising question over the development in the state.”

Attacking the Left Front, Mamata said, “For the last 34 years, the CPI (M) in state has been paying the cheques to farmers by siphoning off commission. It is for the first time transparency is being maintained in making the payment to farmers.”

On the other hand, Congress President of West Bengal, Pradeep Bhattacharya said, “It is not only the duty of the Congress to maintain the coalition dharma, TMC should also honour it. The alliance between the two parties is only to benefit the people of Bengal. Any decision on this issue will be taken by the party high command.”
