According to Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM) sources, during her trip the Chief Minister will hold talks with Gorkha land Territorial Administration (GTA) about overall development of the hills.
The Minister of North Bengal Goutam Deb told reporters that apart from holding talks with GTA members, Chief Minister will also attend a number of government functions to announce some development schemes for the Hill people.
Deputy Chief GTA Cornel Ramesh Alley said the Chief Minister will leave from Kolkata for Darjeeling on May 14, reach Bagdogra by flight and go to Darjeeling via Rohini by road.
Her visit assumes significance in the light of recent turmoil in the Hills following incidents of violence between the ruling GJM and the Opposition Gorkha National Lieration Front (GNLF).
She will be back to Kolkata on May 17. Alley added that her visit was only related with GTA development.
