Kolkata: The Congress has adopted a new strategy to build pressure on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Said to be a Mamata’s detractor, the Congress has constituted a 15-member committee which will monitor the implementation of the Centre’s programmes in the state and submit the report with the party high command.

Notably, Mamata is already at loggerheads with Congress MP Deepa Dasmunshi, MLA Ajay Dey and other Congress leaders from the beginning.

According to the anti-Mamata faction in the Congress, the Centre’s schemes like rural health, Urban Renewal Mission, Right to Education and rural employment projects were not implemented in the state in the effective manner.

The committee will submit its report with the Congress high command on quarterly basis so as to ensure proper usage of the schemes in West Bengal.

It is noteworthy that this faction met Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and other top leaders to complain about the alleged attack from the Trinamool Congress on them.
