Kolkata: Intensifying attack against Union Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi for ignoring her will while preparing Rail Budget 2012-13, the Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has instructed the party MLAs to campaign against the Railway Minister in his Parliamentary Constituency, Barrackpore.

The TMC MLAs have been asked to appraise the voters of the Barrackpore constituency that their MP, Dinesh Trivedi, has betrayed the party.

Lashing out at the Congress at a high-level meeting of the party, Mamata said, “The Congress is the mastermind of the rail fare hike and the Trinamool Congress will never support such a move.”

Mamata further said, “If the fares of Rajdhani Trains had been increased, we would not have opposed it. But it is unacceptable to hike the fares of passenger trains.”

She further said that none of the party leaders including her were consulted by the Railway Minister before preparing the Rail Budget. She made it clear that nobody is above the party discipline.

Mamata had earlier wrote to the Prime Minister asking him to remove Trivedi as the Railway Minister and had suggested the name of Mukul Roy, Mamata’s most trusted lieutenant, as Trivedi’s replacement.
