Kolkata: In order to boost the pace of overall development in state, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has sought suggestions from eminent experts like Nobel laureate Amartya Sen and economist Sugata Bose.

In her meeting with Amartya Sen, Banerjee requested him to give his valuable suggestions to improve the education, health and law and order situation in the state.

In the past, Banerjee had slammed the 34-year Left Front rule for the deplorable condition of education, health, and the situation of law and order in the state.

In an effort to fulfill her pre-poll commitments made to the people, Banerjee has sought suggestion from technical experts of various fields.

Economist Abhirup Sarkar said, “Banerjee is making sincere efforts to revive the lost glory of the state. However the process is time consuming and an overnight development is not possible.”

Political experts opine that the CM is giving more importance to Sen to bring about transparency in the work culture in the state.
