Kolkata: In order to review ongoing development works in the Naxal affected Jangalmahal areas of Bankura, Purulia and West Midnapore districts in West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has decided to visit the region again in next month.

According to sources in the Writer's Building, Chief Secretary Samar Ghosh is serious to implement the special package announced for Jangalmahal. He held first round of meeting with secretaries of 15 departments including health, education and food supplies.

Mamata has announced welfare schemes worth Rs 1000 crore for Jangalmahal including setting up university, college and polytechnic, schools and hospitals in the Maoist affected region.

The Jhargram Hospital will be upgraded to provide better medical facilities to the people.

Sources said the mega projects will take some time to complete, but food security and employment education centric schemes will be given priority.

As per the administrative sources, CM will visit Jangalmahal on January 12 to attend a public function to observe Swami Vivekanand's birthday.
