Kolkata: The Singur dispute between the state government and Tata is still pending before the apex court but the TMC ministers are speaking on the matter publicly and even questioning the role of judges in the case. State Agricultural Minister Becharam Manna, at a public meeting in Singur said “We lost the case because the High Court judges were loyal to the CPM and the Tatas”.

Two days after the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asserted that farmers will get back their land soon; Manna organised a public meeting with the farmers.

The minister also said that if the Supreme Court verdict on the Singur Land Act goes against the farmers, they will grab the land and make their own law.

Manna was appointed minister in recent cabinet reshuffle.  Earlier Mamata Banerjee also lashed out at the judiciary and said “At times favourable verdicts are given in return for money. There are instances when judgments have been purchased. There is corruption among a section of the judiciary. I know there can be a case against me for saying this. But this must be said and I am ready to go to jail for saying so."
