Kharagpur (West Bengal): The Jhargram police on Saturday arrested a Maoist suspected to be involved in the 2009 Rajdhani Express hijack.

He was further remanded to five-day police custody by a Jhargram court in West Midnapore district on Sunday.

People's Committee Against Police Atrocities (PCAPA) leader Nirmal Mahato alias Ashadhi wanted in several cases including the Rajdhani Express hijack was arrested on Saturday night from Sardiha in Jhargram.

Mahato is alleged to be behind the 2009 hijacking of the New Delhi-bound Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express near Banstola in Jhargram.
