New Delhi: A forest official and three forest guards were abducted by Maoists in Bihar’s Jamui district early on Friday.

According to police officials, Maoists have demanded Rs 10 lakh ransom for release of all abducted men. Naresh Singh, abducted forest department official’s son Samsher Singh informed police that Maoists used his father's mobile phone to make the demand.

Maoists have also threatened to kill them if government considers carrying out any offensive action against them.

Meanwhile, Jamui Superintendent of Police Upendra Kumar Sharma said that police has launched a search operation to trace them.
