Kolkata: Just two days after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee issued a warning during her Junglemahal visit, the intelligence agencies have received inputs about a possible major Maoist attack within the coming 15 days.

The Maoists have already prepared a blueprint of the attack and have included few policemen and administrative officials too along with the already named Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assemblies and Ministers in the new hit-list. Some leaders of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) are also named in the list.

Banerjee had said during her Purulia visit, “The Maoists have already prepared a list including me, Mukul Roy, Shubhendu and many officials and Ministers. We will not sit silent over this issue.”

According to the intelligence agencies, the Maoist agents are active in Kolkata to manage the resources and are also involved in planning the attack.

The report says the Maoists have formed separate squads for the attack which have been told to counter the security forces as well as target Trinamool MLAs, MPs, Ministers and leaders.

The security of the leaders and MLAs in Junglemahal has been beefed up while they are adviced not to step out after dark, not to participate in any procession or meeting after evening and go on anyone’s invitation.
