Pakur (Jharkhand): Continuing his demonstration for the fifth consecutive day, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantric-JVM) chief Babulal Marandi said his supporters would block coal rakes of Panem Coal Mines Limited from Wednesday in Pakur district.

"We will block the movement of coal rakes of the company at Lotamara Coal Railway Siding. I will continue the dharna till the government assures a tri-partite agreement with the state, Panem Coal Mines and the Raj Mahal Pahar Bacchao Samiti for completion of all promised welfare projects by the company," Marandi told reporters.

Congress leaders Furkan Ansari and Stephen Marandi have also supported Marandi’s demands. JVM’s Principal General Secretary and MLA Pradip Yadav with other party workers took out a torch light procession ahead of coal-rake blockade.

Marandi has already threatened Jharkhand bandh on November 22 if his demand was not met even as the Pakur district administration continued to appeal to him to end his agitation.
