The reports suggest that the company has stopped the production of its SX4 sedan and is all set to launch its replacement Ciaz with a fresh design.

The global model of Ciaz is based on the concept car which was revealed at Delhi Auto Expo 2014 and supports Maruti Suzuki Ertiga's platform.

The car will feature features a trapezoidal grille with chrome accents, large bumper with wide air dams, fog-lamps and angular shaped projector head-lamps. It will also come with climate control, a navigation system, rear aircon vents and an infotainment system.

The diesel variant of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is powered by 1.3-litre MultiJet engine while the petrol variant features a 1.4-litre K Series engine. The car might also come mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will compete with other sedans like the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, Ford Fiesta, Honda City and the newly launched Hyundai Elite i20 and Audi A3.
